Spicy Italian Sausage Pasta

When people ask me what my favorite recipes are this is always at the top of my list. The only way to describe it is saucy, spicy, and delicious. Need I say more?

The tomato sauce and cream come together perfectly to create this yummy sauce. I love that it doesn’t sit heavy like an Alfredo sauce does.

Spicy Italian Sausage Pasta

Serves: 6 Prep Time: 15 minutes Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 lb spicy Italian sausage (turkey or pork)
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 T. dried parsley
  • 2/3 C dry white wine (or cooking wine)
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 C. whipping cream
  • 1 box gluten free penne pasta
  • Parmesan cheese

Instructions

Cook pasta according to package instructions.

Cook sausage in skillet until cooked through. Drain drippings.

Add garlic and red pepper flakes.

Add wine to skillet and simmer until almost all liquid evaporates.

Add tomato sauce and simmer 2 minutes.

Stir in cream and parsley. Simmer until sauce thickens slightly.

Serve sauce over pasta and top with parmesan cheese.
